Despite its decision to lock down the country to control the spread of novel coronavirus infection, the government has decided to let Nepali citizens enter the country on Tuesday only.
However, those entering the country must agree to be quarantined for the next 14 days, according to the government spokesperson and Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada.
After the governmentannounced the lockdown yesterday evening to come into effect from this morning also, hundreds of Nepalis had arrived at a few Nepal-India border points demanding that they be allowed to go back to their houses. However, the police had barred them, triggering protests.
